The Constitution of Kenya has provided for the Right of Every Citizen to be free from hunger and guaranteed the Access to Food of Acceptable Quality (Article 43 Section 1(C).

Despite this, many Kenyans living in the slums go about their days without decent meals, many considering their meals as a means of survival.

Nonetheless, the Slum dwellers have found ways to deal with their hunger, while acknowledging their diets are not balanced.

In this video, residents are interviewed on the food situation in Mathare.
